Academic Plan for IGCSE

 

Students in Grades IX and X follow a two-year programme leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) under the aegis of Cambridge Assessment International Education. The IGCSE is a two-year course of equivalent standard to the GCSE in the UK. There is a strong emphasis not merely on information but on the learning of academic and practical skills.

The IGCSE examination is taken at the end of Grade X.

Subject Options for IGCSE

Compulsory Subjects:

1. First Language English (FLE) / English as a Second Language (ESL)
2. Mathematics
3. Hindi as a Second Language
   OR
   Foreign Language Option: French, German and Spanish.

The following subjects are offered.

1. Physics or Accounting
2. Chemistry or Business Studies
3. Biology
4. Accounting
5. Economics
6. Geography
7. History
8. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
    OR
    Computer Science (CS)
9. Literature in English
10. Art & Design

 

NOTE:

  • A minimum of 5 students should opt for a subject to make it possible for the school to offer the subject.
  • Students are advised to opt for seven subjects including the three compulsory subjects.
